On 18 November 2024, GISphere, a public-interest platform sharing frontier information on GIS-related research institutes and programs, published my application-experience article.

The article was titled "从双非 GIS 到全奖 PhD:24Fall 科廷大学 DIY 直博申请之路". It described my path from the Geographic Information Science program at Fujian Normal University to a fully funded PhD at Curtin University, supported by CSC and a Curtin HDR top-up scholarship.

I used the article to summarize my DIY application process, including self-positioning, supervisor contact, research proposal preparation, EOI submission, university application, and CSC scholarship coordination.

The article was written as a first-hand reference for GIS students considering overseas research degrees. I emphasized checking official program pages, preparing core materials independently, and keeping fallback options while applying for research-focused programs.
